Into Fishing?
Want to experience fishing Montana’s world-class trout streams? If you’ve never fished out here before, HIRE A FISHING GUIDE. They are all great and will get you into some fish and good items.
Hike
Ousel Falls and Lemonknob Loop
Want a bit more of a trek? Here are some doable day hikes. Make sure you are prepared with enough water, a downloaded map of the trail, and bear spray. (You’re in griz country, my friends, bring the damn bear spray!) We’d recommend bringing a packable rain jacket, too; you never know.
Drive into the beautiful Gallatin Canyon to reach Storm Castle or Lava Lake trailheads.
Just outside of Big Sky, you can drive to Beehive Basin for a lovely hike.
ALL THINGS BOZEMAN
EATS
Revelry’s food and modern ambiance never disappoints. It’s one of our most frequented places to grab a smashburger.
Map Brewing is just beyond Bozeman’s downtown center but well worth the five-minute drive for their comeback chicken sandwich and brews. The view of the Bridger Mountains aint bad either. (All Montana breweries close at 8 p.m. and only serve 3 beers per person.)
Blackbird is pasta perfection. It’s one of our favorite restaurants and is often voted Bozeman’s favorite. They book up quickly but have a community table that’s never awkward. Reservation recommended.
Shans. Hands down our favorite restaurant. If you’re in search of some spice, you’re going to want to make a reservation here. It’s in a part of town that’s just a few-minute drive from the heart of downtown Bozeman. Reservation recommended.
Bozeman hotels:
Lewis and Clark Motel has a basement pool and wellness area that’s a vacation in itself.
The Armory Hotel and Marriott Hotel are lovely and centrally located in downtown Bozeman.
THINGS TO DO
If you’re strolling Bozeman’s downtown shops, be sure to stop into Schnee’s. It’s Bozeman’s iconic outdoor store.
Have a soak in the warm waters of Bozeman Hot Springs.
Quick nearby hikes: The M Trail and Drinking Horse.

Take a beautiful drive into the Bridger Mountains and hike up Ross Peak saddle, park at Ferry Lake, and walk around the lake or trek up to Sacajawea Peak, or rent a mountain bike at Crosscut and hit over 15 miles of single-track trails.
Another beautiful drive with some pleasant hikes is in the Hyalite Mountains. Walk to waterfalls like Palisades Falls and Grotto Falls.
NIGHT LIFE
Dive bars: The Haufbrau, The Molly Brown Bar, The Crystal. If you want to put some money on the table and play poker next to some of God’s finest misfits, get a ride to the Catspaw.
If you’re after something a little classier: Plonk, Brigade, Sky Shed
Pubs: Pub 317 and Baucchus
Live music: The Grey Dog Bar, Filling Station, The Elm, Tune Up
